top ten: random may favorites

It's crazy-how quickly this month has passed, and I'm actually really glad it did. Since our school schedule follows the American system, I'm CRAVING for Summer! One last push at exams this week, and I'm free.

In between study sessions, I managed to put together a random selection of my top ten favorites for the month of may!

1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - one of the most beautifully written novels I have read. A balanced mix of a romance and tragedy! Four words: Augustus Waters, I do.

2. JENECA Apple Chips - sweet but healthy to munch on! I'd prefer these over junk food any day :)

3. Lost at Sea by ZEDD feat. Ryan Tedder - definitely LSS! With its upbeat flow, his song makes me look forward to letting loose and have a blast over the Summer

4. Tickle my France-y by OPI - this sweet pastel pigment presents a very classy and girly quality

5. CETAPHIL daily moisturizer with SPF 15 - fragrant-free, and friendly to sensitive skin. Its SPF also protects skin from the sun's harmful UV rays

6. Trail Mix - healthiest possible snack for a sweet tooth like me! I love a good mix of dried fruit, nuts, and even a tad bit of chocolate

7. YouVersion Bible App - It's one of my convictions that I walk through life with the guidance of a Supreme Being. This app features a range of Bible versions that you can choose according to your preference, create a reading plan, and even feature a verse of the day on your homescreen.

8. REVLON Super Lustrous lipstick in Blushing Mauve - a natural tone with tad hint of pink creates a simple but sweet look for a casual day out

9. Revenge - one of my favorite shows! I'm a sucker for intense and well-written television shows. So far, this one tops the charts for me, and you'll have to watch it to understand!

10. MAKE YOUR OWN HAVAIANAS 2013 - that time of the year that I always look forward to! Customizing our own flip-flops has become a family tradition of ours. It challenges the creative juices inside, and it's even a great fashionable way to bond with the family.

lip lock and eye spy

My mum always said that if there's any place that you should purchase your makeup, it's in the airport or on the plane. Why so? It's duty free! Taxes aren't included in the price, therefore you could save as much as a fortune!

During my recent trip to Japan for a school trip, I opted to spend my allowance on just food and pasalubong so that I would have enough money to purchase goodies on the plane ride back home. When you think about it, you save time and effort. No need to go around the malls looking for that one shade of lipstick. All you have to do is go through the duty free catalog and press the service button on the plane--easy!

As I'm building my own personal makeup collection for various upcoming events, I chose to invest on several items that I know I could use a lot, and would be saving money buying it on the plane. Also, since these items are sold on the place, it means that they're considered travel-friendly and hassle-free! You don't have to carry as much items since they're basically an all-in-one package that you can easily bring around.

The Revlon lip cube comes with nine different shades from
their Super Lustrous collection. So much better buying all the
basic shades at once, rather then slowly building up a lipstick
collection that would cost even more.

Bobbi Brown's Day to Night Shadow Options Palette
showcases seven shades that suits a look fit for a whole day's use.
Initially, the palette I wanted to buy was the Urban Decay Naked Palette,
but they didn't offer it in the plane so I decided that this one would
be a good alternative. After all, it create a large variety of looks while
I wait till that one day that I finally get my Naked palette!

P.S. remember, just because it's cheaper than the retail price, doesn't mean it's worth it! It's only going to be worth it if you know that it's something you will use a lot ;)
