anchors

I've currently been obsessing over this brand called Kiel James Patrick. Their products are all sailor-themed, which got me hooked as I love anything that has to do with the beach and the ocean. I've been going through their products for quite a while now and drooling over the website. All their products are hand-made in Rhode Island. I find their style very appealing as the colors are basic and the structures of their pieces are very fine which makes them timeless.

Simple but practical.
This is the Barnstable Bag from the Cape Codder Collection.
Materials such as canvas, wooden frames, nautical rope and a leather strap
were used to produce a classic piece for everyday use, and could be worn
with almost anything.

This bracelet is called the Jack & Bobby Rig from the Triton Collection.
The band made of twisted nautical cords, and stained with New England colors,
while a gold anchor serves at the clasp.

DID YOU KNOW....

... that anchors have more meaning to them than what they seem? There was just something about the structure I found so mysterious that I had to do a little research on them a while back.

Everyone knows that they are often used for boats to keep them in place. However, I found out that there was a religious meaning for it. As a Christian, this got me really astonished.

It is said to be a symbol of a well-grounded hope and faith. During a stormy weather at sea, an anchor would be a sailor's last resort to stay safe. It helps the boat remain steady while chaos takes place. The sailor has to trust that the anchor will do its job. If you notice, there is always the shape of a cross on an anchor. Christ serves as the anchor in the sea of life. So as a Christian, it is important for me to trust Him when any bumps on the road come my way and know that everything happens according to His will. I believe the only way to maintain a good foundation and remind myself to keep my feet on the ground is through Christ himself and having a stable relationship with Him.

If I had an accessory with an anchor on it, that would be such beautiful aide-mémoire for what I stand for. Hope to get one soon!
